Powdered ferrosilicon nitride is mainly used in the plugging slurry of large blast furnace, and a small amount of it is used in iron ditch material or other unshaped refractory materials.
Granular ferrosilicon nitride is mainly used in oriented silicon steel or other steel using nitride to improve the strength (such as HRB400 rebar).
Ferro silicon nitride is also an additive for the production of cold rolled unidirectional silicon steel sheet. The product can be added to the metal melt to obtain good room temperature and low temperature strength, good corrosion resistance, thermal shock and wear resistance.
Ferro Silicon Nitride is an emerging high quality refractory raw materials, can replace the higher price of silicon nitride, used in large blast furnace anhydrous gun clay; has a very good opening, help sintering, anti-leaching, low-cost features.
2.) The use of ferrosilicon nitride
Ferro silicon nitride in the developed countries of the blast furnace slurry has been widely used, so that the slurry open plugging performance has been significantly better to meet the needs of the blast furnace iron, and has become an indispensable component of the modern large blast furnace slurry. In addition, adding a small amount of ferrosilicon nitride into the iron ditch material greatly improves the iron flux of the iron ditch. Japan began to use ferrosilicon nitride in the 1970s.

Domestic use of ferrosilicon nitride amounted to hundreds of tons a year. Advances in smelting technology has led to the rapid development of microalloyed steel production in China.
